We had a wonderful time! The
animals were a definite hit! Thank you for your hospitality and friendliness. We
were definitely transported back in time by your quaint cottage. My
girls are going to miss Fudge and all the lovely country atmosphere.
Thanks Julie and Jason.

We loved the animals – they
were very gentle, especially Fudge! We enjoyed patting, grooming and
feeding him. The tyre swing was also really fun!! Being in the country
was great! The cottage was really cute and was a great home for our
three nights here. We collected 2 eggs from the chickens and they were
very tasty!!!!
A, M, R and L Oct 08
We came for the rest and to
celebrate K’s birthday. The rest was the best, and we enjoyed every day.
My mum would be so proud of me using the Early Kooka. I enjoyed feeding
the chooks & collecting the eggs. Do I have to go home? I especially
enjoyed the company of my husband and my dear friends S & D. They always
complete the journey.
K, B, S, D Oct 08
It’s all true! The cottage is
comfortable and we felt very welcome. It was a thrill to see the baby
gosling hatch, and we will never forget the brave gander in shining
armour!!! We will be back and will stay for longer next time. We really
did feel at home. Thank you to the Peacock family and thank you chooks
for the yummy eggs!!!

What a great place and ideal
location to explore the wonderful Southern Highlands. It was nice to
find such a quiet place to relax and read a good book, catch up on some
well deserved rest and to do what ever we liked. Loved the atmosphere of
the house and the pleasant surroundings - just lovely.
R, C Nov 08
C loved her big brass bed
and fudge. Both our daughters adored the ‘farm’ they loved feeding the
animals and especially Fudge and the ducks. It was a great week filled
with fun and excitement. The cabins are gorgeous and a real treat with
all of the knick knacks. We visited Fitzroy falls which was beautiful
and completed the walk to ‘Glow Worm Glen’ it was fascinating. M loved
Fudge and the fireplace roasting the marshmallows, definitely will come
back again.
S, M, M, C Nov 2008
We had a lovely time. We’re
leaving relaxed and refreshed after soaking up the cottages ambience and
its beautiful setting, so close to the National Park. The animals are
beautiful – all of them- and we had forgotten how entertaining it is to
watch chickens do their thing. They are so cool ! To top it off, our
son, H, slept through the night for the first time in months (he’s 11
months old) - so he’s obviously pretty relaxed too. Many Thanks.
M, D, H Nov 2008
We had a lovely wintery stay

We all had a lovely relaxing
time. R absolutely loved ALL the animals – loved patting and feeding
them all. Weather was drizzly and cold but the fire made it so very
‘comfy’ – so lovely and quiet we could all just take it easy and catch
up with our reading etc. Thank you for the fresh eggs etc, Thank you for
your kindness and friendliness. (Ps. Jesse our dog loved it and had a
great time)
J, J, R Dec 08
Great hospitality – lamingtons
for afternoon tea, Barry (kookaburra) greeting us and a warm and
welcoming little cottage. Visited the Ye Olde Bicycle Shop for coffee
and Chinese for tea. Loved animals. Who would think we would need to
light the fire in December but we did. Great company and had a wonderful
time.
A, L Dec 08
We enjoyed feeding the horses,
donkeys, chooks, ducks and the kookas. Our two boys had a great country

Arrival: The nose twitches
with the smokey scent of the fireplace sparking a memory of farm visits
long ago, eyes survey the bric-a-brac familiar from so many childhood
haunts, the touch of the crisp, clean air and the Oh so comforting
sounds of creatures large and small. For the adults this has been a
sensory awakening, evoking the sensations of childhood, cherished and
distant. For our young children it is the memories beginning. Braedon’s
Cottage will become part of future recollections, the family holidays
they will hold dear. What a wonderful place, we can share and remember!
Departure: Reluctant. We will return for more memory making fun soon!
G, C, B, L, T Jan 09 (have
since returned for a longer school holiday stay in Sept. 09)
Awesome time killing flies,
collecting firewood. Comfortable silences filled then with the sound of
a bird. Loved it. Enjoyed spending my moments with Barry, Fudge and the
rest of the farmyard. Thoroughly enjoyable. Bike rides not for the faint
of heart. Friendliest people I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting, a
memorable experience in a wonderful peaceful hideaway. Enjoyable time
amongst the bush. Well worth the trip from Sydney. Thank you for making
us feel at home on such shot notice Julie. So many wonderful little
surprises. We love you Julie and Jason.
J, K, S, S Jan 09
We had a wonderful stay. N

What a wonderful place of
peace and tranquillity. Thank you for the relaxing time we had here. It
was great to have a comfy, cosy cottage with a comfy bed (not always
found when you go away) to stay in. J thinks she is queen of the
chickens.
J, C, R Feb 09
A charming bit of old
Australia so quiet and peaceful. Our granddaughter who lives in Sydney
loved the animals. All in all a lovely weekend.
K, B March 09
I think Bonnie the female cat
enjoyed being here the most. A free run of the veranda with animals to
look at that she had never seen before made her right at home. Thanks
Julie and Jason.
S, R and Bonnie March 09
Gorgeous location – idyllic
stay. Our son loved chasing the chickens, collecting eggs, patting the

Finally getting the hang of
the fireplace! Even tried without firelighters with success! Thanks for
another lovely stay (our first in Braedon Cottage) – enjoyed the animals
(Fudge is the Fave), the tyre swing, the chooks, and the seclusion,
toasting marshmallows and admiring the cottage. See you next time.

Thank you for sharing this
beautiful place with us. The donkeys and Fudge were a big hit!
Unfortunately the chickens laid no eggs the entire time – however this
did not stop the kids from waking early every morning and going out to
look for them. Inside the singing fish was definitely a hit!.
T, T, O, A, C, May 2009
Really enjoyed our quiet stay.
A great place to base ourselves for doing the Southern Highlands. A
taste of country again for us. No doubt we will be back, a cosy warm
environment and so good to be able to read about the history of the
property.
V, G May 2009
Warm and cosy. Lots of things
to do and lots of things to see. Even tired the dog out! No T.V. or
phone makes a wonderful relaxing holiday. We hope to be back soon. Thank
you for having us stay and your hospitality.
J, S, and Cleo May 2009
Enjoyed our stay very much.
Very relaxing especially without the television and its rubbishy
programs. The farm animals are a delight and loved feeding the chooks
and geese with breakfast leftovers. We will be looking forwards to our
next stay. We were interested in reading the history of Morvern Valley
and we wonder where the name Morvern valley came from.
J, D May 2009
Just thought whilst typing in these
comments that I should add that TV reception has now been added to
Braedon cottage. Julie
Exactly what we had hoped for
– thanks we loved everything. The chickens didn’t cooperate this weekend
but we managed to put some shop bought ones so that A (2 yr old) was
happy!

The S’s July 09
The cottage was really sweet
and cosy and the animals were lovely and really cute. It was magic!!! I
like wood chopping and making the fire and collecting sticks. My
favourite animal was Fudge. I liked feeding the animals. I also liked it
when before we went to bed we would vote for the best animal of the day
and Fudge won every time. E loved Fudge, and E loved Snowy. Thanks it
was everything we hoped for and more – we will be back soon. I liked
riding fast down Gullies Rd on my bike in the chilly air, just bumping
along with the trees.
H, D, M, E, L and Zena July 09

all the animals of course and enjoyed feeding all of the horse’s lots of
apples and carrots. S’s favourite was Fudge ever friendly and sweet. And
we loved going out to the chook house every morning to check for eggs.
Thanks Julie Jason Alicia and Braedon for your hospitality.

lamb was very special. The cottage and environment is very family
friendly and we will be returning upon any trips within this area.

Lovely country feels with the
open fire, décor and animals. We enjoyed the quiet and even the crowing
of the rooster. The weather was fine, windy and cool. We enjoyed the
local attractions and residents enjoying eating in several
establishments around the area. We fed the chickens and bought them
extra food to keep them happy and they rewarded us with 8 eggs in 3
days. A happy chicken is a productive chicken. Thanks.
R, J Sept 09

Dear Julie,
Just wanted to thank you for a lovely weekend away. The girls had
such a wonderful time with the animals and are keen for another visit.
P..... and I have tried a number of "farmstays" when the
kids were younger and they were such a disappointment. So I have
to tell you that what you have created with Morvern Valley Guesthouse
is a truly wonderful experience of animals for the kids (even though
you don't promote yourself as a farmstay as such) We all had a great
weekend. I
also enjoyed brushing the donkey and patting the alpaca's. So thanks
again.
L... -February 2007
It is rare and
beautiful to be awakened by such a magnificent rooter. To be able
to feed ‘Fudge’; enjoy the presence of the alpacas
and horses and sheep – to feed the birds and watch them enjoy
their meal – the geese are happy and protective of their nest – The
hens supply such lovely eggs – thank you for all of this as well
as the beautiful apple pie- The mock orange by the gate introduces
us to a place of charm and peace. Thank you very much for a peaceful
adventure. We have very much enjoyed our visit and will think of it
often. The history of the guesthouse is fascinating –

settled in Australia – thank you so much for organizing a visit.

picked up from the kids during the school week – so we couldn’t
go out for dinner). A and L loved feeding Fudge and the donkey. It
was nice to wake up to chickens and ducks roaming freely in the yards.
Little A and L enjoyed collecting the eggs – A- said they were ” a
bit dirty though” but fun anyway. L liked the farm animal toys.

Fantastic farm
introduction for D (6yrs) and M (4yrs). I overheard D saying he wished
we lived here “forever and ever”. Thank
you to Julie – you took a special interest in educating us all
on the incubation of young chicks. The 2 day olds ducklings were so
adorable!!! The children loved grooming Fudge and having hands on experience
feeding the horses and the donkeys. The open fire was such a treat – warm
and cosy on a cold Bundanoon evening. Many thanks again Julie!

It is a lovely
place, we loved it. Being South American we thought the llamas would
come running to us. However they kept their distance

up with the chickens on our laps they are so tame. We also loved the

loved the ducks and the peacocks. The house was beautiful! L loved
all the old things. Our stay was completely and utterly fantastic we

'Xmas in July' 2006 Thank you Julie
for a much needed break in such a magical unique property. In such

sweet personalities of all the animals. We'd love to come back. The

- August 2006 What a wonderful
five days we've had at Morvern Valley. This is the first holiday
with our little 6.5 mth old son & we've all had a
great time. Both sets of O's grandparents came for day trips and we
went bushwalking, fed the animals, walked up to the main street and
drank great coffee and had just an absolute ball. Thanks for such attention
to detail Julie - the cherry pie, breakie supplies and cookies were
a huge hit. The effort you have put into this place really shines thru,
we are looking forward to a return visit sometime soon. So thinks again
- this was just what we needed.

For G's
70th birthday gift our dear friends P&M invited us to
spend a weekend at Bundanoon with them. As we have drove around the
corner and sighted this quaint cottage we sensed what a fabulous time
we would have, and we were definitely not mistaken. P & M chose
this magnificent location and cottage. The unique deco bric a brac
and generous hospitality from Julie and Jason added to this memorable
weekend. Thank you P&M for finding this perfect place to capture
the importance of friendship. Thank you Julie and Jason for the beauty
of the animals and the generous token of dietary delights. Will come
again someday.
G,A,P &M, Lake Munmorah, Terrigal - Sept 2006
I don't want to go home! We have had the most relaxing break that
we have ever had. We banned television and we agree it is much better
without it. We played games as a family every night and read books,
This is the first time I have finished a book in years! We are going
home to have 4 TV free nights a week. We toasted marshmellows, made
jaffles, hot chocolate in front of the fire, went on a 3 hr bike ride,
bushwalks, had a day trip and enjoyed feeding and grooming the animals.
This has definitely made our family stranger and mum and dad more relaxed,
especially drinking wine by the fire every night while the kids were
fast asleep, worn out from their adventures. My only suggestion would
be a CD player as some nice music would have topped it off. Thanks
for bringing us back to nature hope to be back soon.

Being in tune with nature is what was about in the last 5 days, the
animals, the cool fresh air and the surroundings, were just what we
needed. We had a very relaxed, quality time and Scottie our 3 yr old
Fox Terrier absolutely well behaved and cheerful. Loves playing with
Reggie and Sammie the alpacas. Thanks Julie for welcoming us with a

Have visited this
wonderful cottage twice in the past year. The beautiful gardens and "homely" feel
of the cottage make it a pleasure to stay, and the hospitality of
the owners is just the icing on the
cake. Highly recommend further inspection to prospective visitors.

This is an absolutely
stunning place - the kids loved every minute of it & didnt want to leave :) They will miss the animals especially
Fudge when we go home. The house is beautiful and so interesting. One
suggestion though - a wooden bench or chairs near the chook pen to
be able to overlook it all :) Thank you M & Family x Great suggestion
- new sandstone benches now positioned in the house yard of each cottage,
near the chooks and overlooking the paddocks !!!
We had a wonderful time exploring the area - the Park, beautiful green
scenery and even rain ! (we'rre not used to that in Adelaide...) Great
place, great time, lovely fire, great chooks (at least an egg or two)
and wonderful setting in god's creation. Make sure you check out the
coal mine.
