Things to

it is a real country farm property with just three self contained
cottages upon it. Each private cottage is exclusive to your
party during your stay – your hosts do not live on the
property at all ! |

All about the Property
Morvern Valley is 25 acres in size - half
cleared farm land with paddocks, and half natural bush land; it is
traversed by a small creek called Coal Creek. The operation of the farm involves fencing repairs, looking after
the land, and caring for the animals who stay here.
Ponies, alpacas, chickens, ducks and geese are friendly and love
a pat and to be hand fed.
The seasonal or regular activities are shearing, marking and inoculation
of our small flock of sheep and our pair of alpacas: the farrier
regularly comes to shoe and trim the ponies hooves. Incubation and
brooding of chicks and ducklings. Show quality fertile eggs are sold
to pure breed chicken fanciers. We exhibit our rare poultry at the
regional shows and have won many ribbons and awards.
Meet
The Animals
Morvern
Valley has 25 acres, they are home to many ponies and even ‘Fudge’ a miniature horse who stands
just 31 inches high. ‘Fudge’ loves a brush, a
pat and a carrot !
There
are Barnevelder chickens, Welsh Harlequin ducks, a friendly
pair of Toulouse Geese, Russian snow geese and a
flock of purebred black face sheep called ‘Baa Baa’, ‘Black
Sheep’ and ‘Wool’ - they now have a ram
to help look after them and we are expecting our first lambs
in Winter.
Collect farm fresh eggs from our friendly
hens (they usually cooperate!!)
Feed colourful Crimson Rosellas and King Parrots at the
verandah.
Go for a stroll around the 25 acres, Many native animals
and birds have been seen by guests at the property - down
near the creek you may see Lyre Birds, Kookaburras, Cockatoos
- and if you are truly lucky a black faced wallaby or echidna.
At dusk take a torch outside and look at resident possums,
owls, and look for Harry the Wombat.
